Upgrades and modernization of the district heating network in Odessa will cut greenhouse gas emissions, executives said.
Swedish environmental and engineering consulting company Sweco said it was chosen by the Odessa District Heating Co. to upgrade the outdated heating system in the historic city.
Eva Nygren, the president of Sweco, said the modernization program will increase efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
"The contract is further proof that our engineers with energy and environmental expertise are in high demand around the world," the president said.
Sweco supports the city of Odessa in project supervision and heating network efficiency.
The contract with the Odessa District Heating Co. is valued at more than $800,000.
